Shopify: product images must be 20 MB or smaller

Shopify's product media uploader caps individual image files at 20 MB. Well-exported JPGs at 2,048 px typically land between 500 KB and 3 MB; very large PNGs may exceed the cap.

What we check: CatalogPrep reads the file size and flags images above the 20 MB threshold.

How to fix: Use CatalogPrep's compress-to-size tool targeting 15 MB to leave headroom, then re-upload. PNG sources benefit from JPG conversion when transparency is not required.
