Amazon main image must use a pure white background
Amazon's product detail and search pages render against a white surface; the main image background must be RGB 255,255,255 so the product appears to float on the page.
Amazon main image: product must fill 85% of the frame
The product must take up at least 85% of the image area on Amazon's main image to ensure it is easily recognizable in search results.
Amazon main image: no text, logos, watermarks, or graphics
Amazon's main image must show only the product. Any text overlay, brand logo, promotional badge, or watermark on the main image triggers suppression.
Amazon main image: minimum 1,000 pixels on the longest side
Images below 1,000 px on the longest side disable Amazon's zoom feature and reduce conversion. 2,000 px is the recommended size for zoom-quality.
Amazon: misleading AI-generated main images are prohibited
Amazon permits AI for photo enhancement (background removal, color, lighting, resize), but the main image must truly represent the actual product. AI-fabricated or misleading main images risk suppression, and AI use must be disclosed. Detection is rolling out through 2026.
