What's going wrong

Marketplaces require the product to fill a minimum share of the main image; small subjects with lots of empty space get flagged or suppressed. Here is each marketplace's framing rule and how to recrop.

Amazon

The product must take up at least 85% of the image area on Amazon's main image to ensure it is easily recognizable in search results.

Fix: Crop or scale the product so its bounding box covers at least 85% of the canvas. CatalogPrep auto-applies a center-and-scale operation against the marketplace's safe-margin profile.

Cdiscount

Cdiscount asks the product to fill the entire image facing forward without pixelation. Wide margins, off-axis angles, and tightly cropped detail shots are rejected on the main image slot.

Fix: Use CatalogPrep's auto-crop with the Cdiscount preset and recompose if needed. Manual review is queued when the product is asymmetric and the natural facing direction is ambiguous.

Lazada

Lazada advises the product fill roughly 80% of the canvas so the item is clearly visible against competing listings in search results.

Fix: Crop or scale the product so it fills about 80% of the canvas while keeping safe margins. CatalogPrep auto-applies a center-and-scale step.

Mercado Libre

Mercado Libre's seller guidance asks for the product to occupy roughly 95% of the canvas with the subject centered. Wide empty margins reduce the rendered subject size in search and trigger a quality penalty.

Fix: Crop or scale the product so its bounding box reaches 95% coverage. CatalogPrep's Mercado Libre preset auto-centers the subject against the platform's safe-margin profile.

Newegg Marketplace

Newegg's primary image rules prohibit real people, body parts, or models as the lead asset of a listing. Collage images and multi-product compositions are also disallowed in the primary slot.

Fix: Replace the primary slot with a product-only pack-shot and move people, models, or lifestyle imagery to the secondary slots. Manual review is required.

Target Plus

Target Plus expects the product to fill 85% or more of the image frame for clear presentation in search.

Fix: Crop or scale the product so its bounding box covers at least 85% of the canvas; CatalogPrep auto-applies center-and-scale.
