Images below a marketplace's minimum dimensions (or the wrong aspect ratio) are rejected or can't zoom. Here are the size and resolution rules per marketplace and how to fix them.
Allegro
Allegro thumbnails need a longer side of at least 400 px and gallery images at least 500 px, with every image capped at 26 megapixels.
Fix: Resize the image within Allegro's safe display bounds. CatalogPrep upscales to the minimum and downscales oversized images automatically.
Amazon
Images below 1,000 px on the longest side disable Amazon's zoom feature and reduce conversion. 2,000 px is the recommended size for zoom-quality.
Fix: Re-export from your camera or design tool at the source resolution; CatalogPrep does not upscale beyond the source pixels to avoid quality loss.
Best Buy Marketplace
Best Buy Marketplace primary images should be at least 1000 x 1000 px, cropped close to the product; the Best Buy Product Shot Guide recommends 1500 x 1500 px.
Fix: Re-export at 1000 x 1000 px or larger (1500 x 1500 recommended). CatalogPrep upscales and pads to the target when the source allows.
Cdiscount
Cdiscount's product-sheet creation guide accepts images from 500 by 500 pixels up to 3000 by 3000, with each file capped at 5 MB. Assets outside that envelope fail product-sheet ingestion.
Fix: Re-export from your design source. CatalogPrep's Cdiscount preset targets 1000 by 1000 - well inside the bounds and comfortably under the 5 MB ceiling.
eBay
eBay rejects listings where the photo longest side is below 500 pixels. 1,600 px or higher is recommended to enable the zoom and enlarge feature on the listing page.
Fix: Re-export the image at a higher resolution from the original camera capture. CatalogPrep does not upscale beyond source to avoid quality loss.
Etsy
Etsy's effective floor is 1,000 px on the shortest side. The seller handbook recommends 2,000 px so photos render sharply across desktop, mobile, and the Etsy app's zoom view.
Fix: Re-export from your camera or design source at higher resolution. CatalogPrep does not upscale beyond source pixels.
Lazada
Lazada accepts square product images from about 500 x 500 px upward; higher resolution enables zoom and cleaner detail pages.
Fix: Re-export at a higher resolution (1000 x 1000 px square recommended). CatalogPrep upscales and pads to the target when the source allows.
Mercado Libre
Mercado Libre accepts product photos from 500 by 500 pixels up to 1920 by 1920. Listings under 1000 px on the shortest side disable zoom; 1200 by 1200 is the recommended sweet spot per the official seller guide.
Fix: Re-export from source at 1200 by 1200 or higher; if the asset is over 1920, CatalogPrep auto-downscales while preserving the centered subject for Mercado Libre's category-aware previews.
Meta Commerce
Meta's catalogue for Shops on Facebook and Instagram requires a 500×500 pixel minimum (1:1 works across placements). Meta scales images aggressively, so 1080 px or more on the short edge is recommended to keep product cards from looking blurry.
Fix: Use CatalogPrep's auto-crop with the Meta Commerce square preset. We never upscale beyond the source - re-export from your design tool if your source falls below 1024 px.
Newegg Marketplace
Newegg Marketplace's Seller Academy requires product images to meet a 640 wide by 480 high minimum with each file under 5 MB. Images that fail either threshold are rejected at item setup.
Fix: Re-export from your source camera or design tool at a higher resolution. CatalogPrep's Newegg preset targets 1000 by 1000 to leave headroom against the 640 floor while comfortably staying under 5 MB.
noon
noon Seller SKU images must be at least 660 px wide with a width-to-height ratio of 0.5 or greater, exported as JPEG under 10 MB.
Fix: Resize to meet the width and aspect minimums and compress under 10 MB. CatalogPrep applies the resize and compression automatically.
OTTO
OTTO requires a minimum of 500 x 1000 px and caps the longest side at 4500 px so images stay within the catalog's display and zoom bounds.
Fix: Resize to meet the minimum and downscale anything over 4500 px. CatalogPrep applies the resize automatically.
SHEIN
SHEIN accepts square images from about 900 x 900 up to 2200 x 2200 px and portrait images up to 1340 x 1785 px.
Fix: Re-export at an accepted SHEIN resolution (900-2200 px square). CatalogPrep upscales and pads when the source allows.
Shopify
Shopify's product media guidance recommends square images at 2,048×2,048 px so the storefront's zoom-on-hover, gallery, and high-density display rendering all stay sharp.
Fix: Use CatalogPrep's resize fix targeting 2,048 px, or re-export from your design source. Square aspect can be achieved by the auto-crop with subject-centered safe margins.
Target Plus
Target Plus requires at least 1000 x 1000 px for zoom; 1500 x 1500 or larger is recommended.
Fix: Re-export at 1000 x 1000 px or larger (1500 recommended). CatalogPrep upscales and pads when the source allows.
Temu
Temu accepts images from about 800 x 800 px; 1600 px on the longest side is recommended so the main image stays crisp in search and detail pages.
Fix: Re-export at 800 px or larger (1600 px on the longest side recommended). CatalogPrep upscales and pads when the source allows.
TikTok Shop
TikTok Shop requires a 1:1 square main image. The floor is 600×600 pixels; 800×800 or higher is recommended (many sellers ship 1080×1080) so the product card stays crisp across the FYP, Shop tab, and product detail.
Fix: Use CatalogPrep's auto-crop with the TikTok Shop square preset, or re-export from your source at 800×800 or higher.
Trendyol
Trendyol renders product images in a tall portrait frame; the official guideline is a 2:3 ratio at 1200 x 1800 px so images display without letterboxing or being cropped.
Fix: Resize, crop, or pad the image to a 2:3 portrait canvas (1200 x 1800 px). CatalogPrep pads to the target ratio automatically; manual review is required when cropping would cut off the product.
Walmart Marketplace
Walmart recommends the hero (primary) image at 2,200×2,200 px and treats 1,000 px per side as the practical quality floor; 1,500 px is the minimum for zoom-on-hover, and primary images under 500×500 px are automatically unpublished.
Fix: Re-export from your camera or design source at higher resolution. CatalogPrep does not upscale beyond source pixels to preserve quality.
Wayfair
Wayfair requires at least 1000 x 1000 px to feature an image; 2000 x 2000 px is recommended for detail.
Fix: Re-export at 1000 x 1000 px or larger (2000 recommended). CatalogPrep upscales and pads when the source allows.
Zalando
Zalando's catalogue render expects a portrait packshot at 1801 by 2600 pixels (1:1.44 aspect). Designer brands raise the minimum to 1800 by 2600. Below 762 by 1100, the asset is rejected at ingestion.
Fix: Re-export your packshot at 1801 by 2600 from your source. CatalogPrep's Zalando fashion preset auto-crops to the portrait canvas while preserving the subject's safe margin.
